PROJECT PURPOSE AND TIMELINE:

The project consists of removal and replacement of the westernmost Venetian Causeway bascule bridge due to structural deficiencies. Starting June 1, 2015, the bridge is completely closed for nine months. Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians should use MacArthur Causeway (I-395) or the Julia Tuttle Causeway (I-1-95 as alternate routes between Miami Beach and mainland Miami. During the construction period, the east bridge will be closed to marine traffic to ensure vehicular traffic has access in and out of the Venetian Causeway and residential islands.
